Mini Ball

On Thursday Russell School's mini ball team went to play mini ball at the Te Rauparaha Arena.
First we did warm ups. Then we got into our groups to do some skills. Lylah's group is group one and Sharnita's group number is two.
Do you know how many games both groups won? TWO!

Re Anne likes how people score three pointers. Tony likes how some people set up so others can score. Brandon likes how others can shoot the ball from far away from the hoop and get it in and score.

We want to say a big 'THANK YOU!' to Wendy and all the adults who support our team.

We want to say thanks to all the amazing parents and supporters.

This year our most valuable player award went to Malanga and Nino got the most improved.

Swimming Goal

Learning beach water safety
I was in the sea turtle group and my instructor was Paul.
What was the hardest thing for me? The hardest thing for me is to breath when I'm doing freestyle and the other thing is to stay under the water.
Listening & showing respect
My goals are to freestyle while breathing; do backstroke and to be able to swim a longer distance.

Teamwork

Thanks to the Cannons Creek Pool instructors that helped us achieve our goals in swimming this term.

Ole Football

Today was our last day with Ole Soccer. We played with our class. It was fun because we scored goals and we like to run fast like a cheetah. It was cool!

Jump rope for heart.

Coin Trail
This week Russell School has been doing jump rope for heart. We have also been donating a coin to the Heart Foundation. I feel sorry for the people that have had a heart attack or stroke and couldn't afford their medical bill. Jump rope for heart is easy to get your heart beating and keep you fit. We think that the coins we donate are going to get better machines for the Heart Foundation.

Our first basketball game

On Tuesday was our first basketball game at the arena. We had to wear these wrist bands and if other kids have the same colour we have  then you have to mark them. Our coach used me for the back because I was the tallest one there.I saved a goal.I felt nervous and tall. by Anton
